De Tijd Daarna * The Time There-After
Former Secretary of Health Els Borst: ‘It’s of great importance that we all see this documentary.’
*
Long time survivors Erwin Kokkelkoren and Bert Oele meet the challenge:
We had the book, the photo-exhibition, now we are presenting the documentary. This completes a unique triptych. Press, audience and hiv and aids organizations have been impressed as to how the complete story of hiv and aids in The Netherlands is told in this once in a life time project.
This documentary tells us:
-The story of the greatest forgotten revolution in the medical field: Aids changed in one generation from a deadly plague to a treatable disease!
-A film for decades to come. The importance of it will only grow.
-An inspiring image of the Dutch attitude to life with hiv: open, transparent, honest, and touching.
The complete story:
-This triptych starts with the first aids diagnosis: April 3 1982 in Amsterdam.
-This project shows us a broad and divers group of men and women living with hiv today.
-It sends a clear message of what we want for the future.
We want you to see this documentary:
- Read all the information about this project on our website: www.detijddaarna.nl
- Contact us, and show this film in your country, in your organization, in your company!
- Inspire, touch and educate the people who are living or working with hiv.
Reasons to see the documentary:
- This film is a mighty weapon fighting stigma and self-stigma.
-We meet the young infected couple who become parents of a healthy baby.
We see the hiv-veterans overcome their physical pain and become an inspiration to us all.
-We see the young gay guy with hiv meeting new friends and lovers.
- We see that in the western world hiv is no longer a deadly disease, it has been relegated to the past.
-Most importantly: we see individuals, not a group. An hiv infection can never be generalized. Each individual experiences it differently.
Stepping up the pace!
Share our story and together we can create a better world for all people living with hiv.
